Babbel – Learn Portuguese App Reviews

Its the best substitution for taking an actual Portuguese class. Im learning it to impress a girl and its far exceeding my expectations. And hers. ;)

Update* This new update is much smoother. I hope you expand more on the review process. Maybe adding some games or something. Keep up the great work! I am in love with this system, I finally feel like Im on my way to conversing. However here are small language issues and the app can be buggy which is why I am not giving it 5 stars.

I have Rosetta Stone and I got bored with it but with this so far is very entertaining and Im actually learning!!!!

One of the things I dont like about this app and Rosetta Stone is that the Portuguese that they teach here is from Brazil not the actual country Portugal. There are differences between the two on pronunciation and how your put sentences together. Im still trying to find something that teaches Portuguese from Portugal not Brazil. So if that doesnt matter to you then this app suffices.

Very useful app. Rarely crashes

When you buy a more advance version for three months it doesnt tell you that after that time it will renew itself and charge you again without asking if you want it or not. I talked to them about it and they blame it on the Apple Store so I couldnt get my money back.

Failed all languages including English in school but am making great progress with this app

This app is slow and plodding. The app only allows one free lesson before you need to pay. There are other language learning Apps that are far more user-friendly and free. I would not spend the money on this app as I do not feel I would get a fair return on my investment.

Its very nice to be honest... Its really fun and easy to learn the first few lessons. But right when you get hype for the rest of the lessons offered... A page comes up saying you have to start paying if you want to keep learning -_- It really ruins the fun...

The app works very well, the lessons are solid and helpful, and the customer service is excellent!
